Interim IT manager with leadership-team experience

When the IT manager role sits empty, we step in and keep momentum in infrastructure, security, compliance and digitalization — until a permanent solution is in place.

When an interim IT manager is needed

The need rarely comes on schedule. Usually a role falls vacant, or IT matters outgrow what the organization can keep up with. An interim IT manager keeps the decisions and the pace going in the meantime.

  • An unexpected vacancy that needs to be covered quickly
  • A recruitment that is taking longer than planned and must not leave a gap
  • Rapid growth or an acquisition that places new demands on IT and integration
  • A larger transformation, cloud migration or security project that needs to be led
  • A gap on the leadership team where IT and digitalization lose momentum
  • A need to raise IT maturity ahead of NIS2, GDPR or the Cyber Resilience Act

What we take responsibility for

We take on the role fully — not as an analyst on the side.

IT strategy, budget and priorities aligned with business goals
Security and compliance — NIS2, GDPR and CRA from gap analysis to action plan
Operations, infrastructure and vendor management with clear contracts and follow-up
Leading the IT team and recruiting the permanent successor
Briefings and decision material for the leadership team and board
A structured handover so the organization can carry it forward itself

FAQ

Common questions about interim IT managers

What does an interim IT manager cost?

It depends on scope and time — part time or full time, the length of the engagement and how much operational responsibility the role carries. We give a fixed quote after an initial call.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within one to two weeks. For an urgent vacancy we can step in faster and scale up the scope over time.

Do you take remote engagements?

Yes. We work on site in Stockholm and remotely across Sweden, based in Hälsingland. Many engagements become a combination — a few days on site, the rest remote.

How is an interim IT manager different from a regular IT consultant?

An interim IT manager takes line responsibility: budget, staff, decisions and reporting to management. A consultant solves a defined task. We do the former.

Can you sit on the leadership team?

Yes. We can join as IT expertise on the leadership team, with or without operational management responsibility, and make sure IT and digitalization get the right place in decisions.

What happens when the engagement ends?

We document continuously, help recruit the successor and carry out a structured handover — with the option to stay available as support during ramp-up.
